Oli’s World

well its now the start of week 2 and i’ve had my second lecture for music for digital media.

julio taught us all about how to edit and play about with video in logic today.

i’ve had logic 8 for about a year now and have never really tried to do anything with video within logic itself, thats not to say i didnt know it could do it.

there were some things that i already knew, most of the shortcuts were some of the things i knew but thats only through getting it wrong whilst trying to find something else.

we also got given our first assignment. we are to create a score for approximately 30 seconds worth of a video known as ‘persona’ by the swedish director ingmar bergman.

when i have a bounce of this task i’ll post it in another blog post on its own so that it is quick and easy to find if needed.

So, this is it!

the beginning of year 2 of university,

as part of a module for my second year i am required to keep a blog of what i am doing for that module and so this is where that blog shall be kept.

Ok so during week one i’m really enjoying myself, i have found out alot more about the first of my modules so far.

and, as Julio was telling us in our workshop, this module can teach us so much about what appears to be a rather big part of the industry.

until monday morning i had never really realised how entwined the worlds of music and media were.

i knew they were closely related but i never realised that they relied on each other as much as they do.

for every kind of visual media there seems to be a certain type of audible media to fit.

all in all i really think i am going to enjoy this year at uni and i’m prepared for the work , never thought i’d say that!
